Bengaluru: Transport department employees in Karnataka have called for a statewide strike starting December 31, demanding the fulfillment of various pending requests. The strike is expected to cause significant disruptions to bus services across the state.
Ananth Subbarao, a prominent leader of the transport workers, has announced the strike, and six major unions of transport workers in the state have extended their support.
Key demands include salary increments and other pressing issues. The workers have warned that if their demands are not addressed by the government, bus operations will be completely halted.
Employees from four major transport corporations, including KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC, and KKRTC, are set to participate in the protest, which could bring bus services across the state to a standstill. READ THIS :Mandya Kannada Sahitya Sammelana: Traffic Diversion on Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway
Unless an agreement is reached between the government and the transport workers, the strike could severely impact the public transport system, causing inconvenience to passengers statewide.
