The Indian Air Force is having full-swing preparations for the Indian Air Force Day on Tuesday with a full-dress rehearsal which involved the participation of the recently inducted Rafale fighter jets along with Mig-29 and Sukhoi – 30 at the Hindon base in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The 88th IAF Day is celebrated every year on October 8 observing the foundation of the Air Force which was instituted in 1932. A number of aircraft which also includes the Tejas LCA, Jaguar, Mig-21 and IAF helicopter fleet like Mi17V5, ALH Mark-4, Chinook, Mi-35 performed in the rehearsal.
Overall, a count of 56 aircraft which comprises of 19 choppers and 7 transport aircraft will be flying in the parade. A part of the flypast also comprises of Suryakiran aerobatic team and Sarang aerobatic team. This year, on September 10, the IAF had officially inducted five Rafale fighter jets, which has boosted the power of Indian Air Force, thereby making the celebrations even more special. The jets are operational in the Ladakh region strongly backing up the IAF during the rising border tensions with China.
