Akali Dal proceeds with kisan marches to protest against farm laws from Punjab to Chandigarh

To protest against the new farm laws, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has initiated three separate kisan marches starting from three religious takhts in Punjab to Chandigarh.

Sukhbir Singh, SAD chief has begun one of the marches from Akal Takht in Amritsar. Alongside, his wife and ex-Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal are proceeding with another march starting from Takht Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo in Bhatinda.

The third of march is led by senior Akali leaders Prem Singh Chandumajra and Daljit Singh Cheema which will be commencing from Takht Keshgarh Sahib in Anandpur Sahib.

All the three processions will reach Chandigarh in the later part of the day, whereby, the SAD leadership will give a memorandum to the Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnore against the farm bills.

The kisan marches by SAD come after the Akalis separating their ways from the National Democratic Alliance over farm bills. This is the third major party to separate from the BJP led coalition in the last two years.
