Bahrain follows United Arab Emirates (UAE) in establishing completely diplomatic ties with Israel. The two gulf countries are taking the move to normalize ties with the Jewish state and carving a peaceful path for the politics in the Middle East.
Bahrain’s officials stated that the agreement will help in promoting peace in the region, a position that Iran does not have. Iran’s government, stands up for Shiite population, gave a clear warning that the deal will destabilize the region.
“This is a historic breakthrough to further peace in the Middle East.. Opening direct dialogue and ties between these two dynamic societies and advanced economies will continue the positive transformation of the Middle East,” as quoted from a joint statement issued between US, Bahrain and Israel.
US President Donald Trump quite appreciated the step taken by Bahrain, days prior to the scheduled signing ceremony of Israel and UAE at the White House. Trump confirmed that Bahrain’s foreign minister would join the ceremony scheduled on September 15.
Trump’s this move will boost his claims for the November Presidential elections in aiding to establish peace to the Middle East and seeing success in efforts to withdraw US forces from the region.
