Apple virtual launch event: iPhone 12 to be launched in India at Rs. 69,000

Within a month’s time, Apple has been back with a bang launching not one but four different types of iPhone and a new HomePod in a virtual event held for good measure.

HomePod Mini

Apple started the event with the launch of HomePod Mini, which is a tinier version of its Homepod speaker. It starts at $99  and will be available in two colors – whie and space gray with pre-orders commencing on November 6.

Four different iPhones

Apple announced four types of iPhone with a slight upgradation in the size, a bit more fancier and also stress on ‘expensive’ – iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

All of them have enhanced display features, better cameras especially the night mode on the wide and ultra-wide cameras and also support 5G. The iPhone 12 comes with 5.4” display with a price of $699 and the iPhone 12 has a display of 6.1” with an estimated price of $799. The iPhone 12 Pro is being launched at $999 price for a 6.1” display with the special feature of stainless steel body (which is aluminium coated for non pro models) and 12MP telephoto lens. The iPhone 12 Pro Max to be launched at a starting price of $ 1,099 with a massive 6.7” display.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will come in blue, green, red, white and black shades whereas the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max would be available in blue, gold, black and white colors.

For pre-ordering, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will commence on October 16, and shipping initiated from October 23. Alongside, the iPhone 12 Mini and 12 Pro Max can be pre-ordered from November 6 and shipping from November 13.

In India, iPhone 12 and its models will be available from October 30 to be purchased from apple.com or through Apple Authorized Resellers. iPhone 12 Mini will be launched in India at the price of Rs. 69,900, and iPhone 12 at Rs. 79,900 in 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB models with blue, green, black, white and red shades. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max to be available in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB models in shades of graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue at the price of Rs. 119,900 and Rs. 129,900 respectively.

Apple, confirming the rumours, will no longer be including headphones and adapter in the iPhone box citing environmental hazards into reasoning with making a statement that there are billions of compatible chargers out there. The iPhone 12 models will now come only with a c-type USB cable.
