Ashok Gehlot: There is a growing concern among other countries with regard to farmers’ protest

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated the Union’s move to have a discussion with te farmers union for talks termimg it as “step in the right direction” but also iterated that the decision taken was quite late.

In a series of tweets, Ashok Gehlot has written about the farmers’ protests. One of the tweets stated, “Centre’s invitation to the farmer’s unions for talks is a step in the right direction but taken too late. There is a growing concern not only in the country but in the other countries as well, where a sizable number of persons of Indian origin live, regarding protests of farmers in India.”

Ashok Gehlot alsor urged PM Modi for paying heed to the matter. He tweeted, “PM Modiji must take the lead to resolve this impasse. Farmers’ genuine demand must be met.”

Alongside, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke about his concerns about the farmers protesting in India, considering which, Ashok gehlot iterated about its growing concern in foreign countries.

Justin Trudeau, on Monday, stated Canada will be at the forefront for defending the rights of the peaceful protest, when he was talking at the video interaction on Facebook, which was hosted by Canadian MP Bardish Chagger on the eve of Guruparab, also the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

Trudeau said, “I would be remiss if I didn’t start also by recognising the news coming out of India about the protest by farmers. The situation is concerning and we’re all very worried about family and friends.”

To which India responded in a sharp manner, indicating that Trudeau’s remarks were “unwarranted” which reflected the internal affairs of a democractic country. Anurag Srivastava, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Externa Affairs, stated in a statement, that it would be best for diplomatic conversations to be not misrepresented for political objectives or intentions.

Srivastava’s response comes after the concern expressed by Justin Trudeau regarding the farmers’ protests happening along the Singhu border in New Delhi and said Ottwaa has extended their support to Indian authorties for broaching the issue.
