BBMP to stop the practice of pasting stickers at COVID-19 infected people’s houses

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has taken a step to stop the practice of posting stickers outside the houses where infected Covid-19 patients live. This move is to stop the raising stigma related to Covid-19 patients, as the stickers outside houses made the residents see it in bad light. This comes weeks after BBMP stopped barricading the individual containment zones.

BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad confirmed the same on Wednesday. He also mentioned that instead of the stickers, the BBMP would inform the surrounding neighbours of a Covid infected patients to raise the required awareness about the situation. A letter regarding the same has been posted to the state government.
