Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2021 during the session, where she declared a record outlay of the amount allocated for the Railway budget which is Rs 1,07,100 crore.
She further iterated that the government will be attaining an absolute 100 per cent electrification of the broad gauge rail tracks till the decided tie limit of December 2023. She further added that the Railway will monetize the dedicated freight corridors when she was talking about the budget aspect pertaining to the asset monetization plan of the government.

While addressing the budget aspect of Covid-19 vaccination, Nirmala Sitharaman appreciated the vaccine roll-out with two vaccines under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She also hinted about the launch of additional two vaccines.
The finance minister highlighted the budget allocated for the Covid-19 vaccination drive, saying that a sum of Rs 35,400 crore will be sanctioned for the vaccines in the financial year 2022.
Earlier, while beginning the budget speech, Sitharaman said that preparing the budget has been difficult amid the crisis. She also added the budget is special in its own as it is the first budget of the upcoming decade.
