With ongoing talks about relaxations of Covid-19 restrictions after June 14, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa may supposedly conduct a meeting within two days, to discuss the matter and take a decision. Alongside, Bengaluru registered less than 2,000 fresh cases of Covid-19 on June 7. It accounted for less than 1/5th of the overall 11,958 cases recorded in Karnataka on Monday. This is the first in a couple of months the city has reported less than 2,000 cases on a daily basis.

Presently, the state of Karnataka is under lockdown till June 14, and there are indications that the government is supposedly going for graded relaxation of the restrictions for districts have less positivity rate to start with.

Whe asked about unlocking, Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan said, “The Chief Minister, after discussing with everyone, will take a decision on what measures need to be taken in this regard, by taking everyone into confidence.”

While addressing the reporters, he said Yediyurappa will schedule a meeting comprising of experts, ministers, and officials within two days, during which all subjects will be discussed and the outcome will be given.

He added, “In most of the districts, other than a few, the numbers have come down. we will also have to ensure that the cases don’t increase again, it will also be looked into.”

Earlier, Yediyurappa had declared the relaxations and unlock process will be particularly for those districts where the Covid-19 positivity rate below 5 per cent.
