Covid-19 vaccination coverage in India surpasses 2.3 crores

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday revealed that the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination has surpassed  the count of 2.3 crores coverage. The ministry said over 2 million vaccine doses have been administered over the last 24 hours.

As per the data given by the Health Ministry, on Day-52 vaccination drive,  20,19,723 vaccine doses were administered. From the count, 17,15,380 beneficiaries were provided with vaccines via 28,884 sessions for the first dose (HCWs and FLWs) and a count of 3,04,343 healthcare workers and frontline workers were given the second dose of the vaccine.

The health ministry revealed, “These include 70,75,010 HCWs (first dose ) 37,39,478 HCWs (second dose), 67,92,319 FLWs (first dose) and 3,25,972 FLWs (2nd dose), 7,01,809 beneficiaries aged more than 45 years with specific co-morbidities (first dose) and 43,74,145 beneficiaries aged more than 60 years.”

In the last 24 hours, 15,388 new cases have been registered, where the highest cases have been recorded in Maharashtra with 8,774 followed by Kerala with 1,412 and Punjab with 1,229 new cases.

The Ministry said, “India’s total active caseload has reached  1,87,462 today. India’s present active caseload now stands at 1.67 per cent of India’s positive cases.”
