Delhi Police Commissioner S N Srivastava has given three critical steps on Saturday to resolve the problem associated with the drug menace, which is the centre of the national controversy by awareness, rehabilitation of the addicts and putting a break through the supply chain by discerning the peddlers and sources.
Delhi police is making their best attempts to take a step regarding this, said Srivastava, “We all know that addiction, be it alcohol or drugs, causes immense damage and stops a person from achieving his/her full potential. So, it becomes necessary for society to fight against the drug menace.”
He further said, “Whenever someone is arrested with drugs, we do not restrict ourselves there, but work towards cracking down the whole system.”
Srivastava further explained that Delhi Police tackles the issues of drugs and gambling structuring them as organized crimes. He said, “We act towards busting the entire chain and tracking the source. We are gaining success. We are also working with states like Odisha and Andhra Pradesh where hemp is believed to be cultivated. We are getting full cooperation from these states.”
Regarding the masterminds based out of India, Srivastava said the Northwestern and Eastern borders are needed to be fortified. “The inter-border drug smuggling is majorly for heroin,” said the police commissioner
