Bengaluru: Residents of the state are likely to face a sharp rise in electricity tariffs soon, as power supply companies have requested the government to increase the per-unit electricity charges.
All power distribution companies in the state, including BESCOM, have submitted proposals to the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) to revise electricity tariffs for the next three years.

As a result, consumers in the state may soon experience a significant surge in their electricity bills.
