The Sadashivanagar police officials have charged an FIR in a criminal case against the political secretary of the state’s Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, N R Santosh for allegedly making a move to kill himself in the Dollars Colony residence by having sleeping pills on Friday evening.

The case has been filed under IPC sector 309, as revealed by a senior officer. The officer stated, “We are going to question Santosh after he recovers and further necessary action will be taken.”

It is suspected that Santosh had over 10 sleeping pills at around 7.15 pm in the evening. He was then hospitalized to MS Ramaiah hospital where his treatment is in-process in the ICU.

The police continue to remain silent on the reason behind his suicidal attempt. It has been rumored that Santosh was under depression citing political and personal problems. Santosh’s wife Jahnavi iterated to reporters about his political issues which disturbed him. She said, “After sometime when I went to ask him what he would like to have for dinner, I noticed he was feeling drowsy, the pills strip was lying next to him. Sensing something wrong we rushed him to the hospital.”
