Germany, the present head of the European Union, will have a discussion of the possible sanctions on Russia regarding the poisoning of Alexei Navalny if Kremlin fails to provide an explanation at the earliest, was addressed by Germany’s foreign minister on Sunday.
The Russian opposition leader Navalny got sick on a flight in the last month and was given treatment in Siberian hospital prior to his evacuation from Berlin. He has been in coma in a Berlin hospital for treatment from August 22.
Germany was increasing a lot of pressure regarding the Navalny poisoning case on Russia on Sunday giving a clear warning. Germany warned that Moscow’s lack of support in the investigation would “force” Germany to have rethinking on the future of the German-Russian gas pipeline project. German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas spoke about the pipeline built under Baltic Sea to the Bild am Sonntag newspaper, “I hope the Russians won’t force us to change our position regarding the Nord Stream 2.”
Putin’s spokesman has denied the allegations about involvement of Kremlin in poisoning Navalny and spoke last week about how Germany had not provided enough evidence about the politician’s condition.
