US motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson declared on Thursday its decision to exit India, thereby ceasing the sales and manufacturing operations in the country. The company further announced that it expects to report $75 million with respect the add-on restructuring charges for “The Rewire”.
The official company statement quoted, “Between August 6, 2020 and September 23, 2020, the Company approved commitments to additional restructuring actions under The Rewire related to optimizing its global dealer network, exiting certain international markets, and discontinuing its sales and manufacturing operations in India.”
The company is primarily going to concentrate on core markets and profitable markets like in United States.
