A batch of ‘Made in India’ vaccines have been supplied to Angola thereby adhering to the “Vaccine Maitri” initiative revealed External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday.
In a post on Twitter, Jaishankar tweeted, “Landed in Luanda. Made in India vaccines delivered to Angola today. #VaccineMaitri.”
As per the data released by John Hopkins University, Angola has recorded 20,854 Covid-19 cases along with 508 deaths.
Jaishankar had earlier declared that India is taking all the required efforts to be at the forefront in the battle against Covid-19 and is supporting the countries by vaccine supply under ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative..
India has supplied Covid-19 vaccines to over 25 countries around the world. Further, India is planning to distribute vaccines to around forty nine countries which will include Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean to Africa, South East Asia and the Pacific Islands, he said.
