Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa is supposedly seeking to have a little alteration in the cabinet. As per some sources, the health and family welfare portfolio will be bereaved from B Sriramulu, and might be handed over the charge of plum social welfare department.

There were discussions and the health portfolio might be handed over to K Sudhakar, who is presently state’s Medical education Minister.

Considering the current post for social welfare minister is taken care of by Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol, it could be significant for ruling party BJP to offer him the position. Sriramulu, who represents the ST community, also holds the post of backward classes minister. “If he holds the social welfare portfolio, he will be able to directly deal with the STs,” mentioned a source.

Sriramulu, holds a very consolidated position in the BJP party, projecting as deputy chief ministerial face, he got the community votes roped in for BJP during the 2018 Assembly elections.

When approached to clarify the new posts, both were unavailable for comment.
