The Lebanese army found more than 4 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stocked around Beirut’s port on Thursday. This discovers traces a horrific incident about an explosion that happened a month ago taking the lives of 191 people.
The 4.35 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, a toxic hazard, was stored in four containers in the port’s vicinity as discovered by the army experts. No details were found regarding the owner or the origin of the toxic chemical.The military statement mentioned that the army experts were “dealing with the material’, an apparent reference about its destruction. The army stated afterwards that the containers were moved and stored safely away from the port.
