Man Sets Himself on Fire Near Parliament Building; Dead

New Delhi: A 26-year-old man who set himself on fire near the new Parliament building on December 25 succumbed to his injuries on Friday while undergoing treatment at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, officials said.

Incident Details:
The deceased, identified as Jitendra from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, poured a flammable liquid, suspected to be petrol, on himself and set himself ablaze near the Parliament building. Security personnel deployed nearby quickly extinguished the fire and rushed him to RML Hospital for treatment.

Reason for the Suicide Attempt:
Preliminary investigations suggest that Jitendra was distressed due to disputes involving certain individuals in Baghpat. His family was reportedly entangled in two assault cases filed by another family, which had caused him significant frustration, police said.

Hospital Statement:
