NIA arrests 9 Al-Qaeda operatives after raiding in Kerala, West Bengal

National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested nine operatives after carrying out multiple raids at Ernakulam in Kerala and Murshidabad in West Bengal as revealed by the officials aware about the development on Saturday.

The nine arrests took place on Friday night and are allegedly considered to have nexus with a terror plot to be targeted in Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, as per the data given by officials. The probable target points are Kochi Naval base and shipyard. During the raids, weapons and bomb making substance is used.

Six arrests were done from Kerala and three were taken in from Kerala. According to the officials, the nine operatives had planned single wolf attacks and human bombs. Further investigation is in-process about whether this had any involvement of the locals and they are gathering details from the Telegram service. Kerala Police was put on high alert after the raid followed arrest.
