Karnataka government will conduct random scheduled reality checks at the hospitals based in Bengaluru to review the admission of the affected and discharge of the recovered Covid-19 patients, as per the statement by Forest Minister Arvind Limbavali, who has also taken charge as the nodal minister for Covid War Rooms and Helplines.

The minister said that the random checking at the call centres will give a clear idea about the available beds at the hospitals and also the present status of the treatment to the patients.

After the inauguration ceremony of a call centre (1912) at Yeshwantpur, Limbavali while interacting with the reporters said, “ “Previously, the helpline 1912 had only 60 lines. Now it has been added with 70 additional lines. Due to this constraint, earlier, a caller had to wait for 12 to 20 minutes for his turn to speak to the doctors or executives. But now with the additional lines, a caller will immediately get connected to a doctor or executive at the call centre.”

The government also allotted doctors at the call centres who will be answering the queries of the patients and give the required guidance for the instances of delay in transferring calls to the jurisdictional zones. The minister said, “The call centres along with conducting reality check will also act as triaging centres.” At the occasion also present were BBMP chief commissioner Gaurav Gupta along with Rajarajeshwari Nagar MLA Munirathna and Nodal Officer of Helpline Vipin Singh.
