Amid the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meet held in Dushanbe on Wednesday, the National Security Advisors (NSAs) of the representative countries have together vowed to have cooperation in the mutual fight against international terrorism, extremism, and separatism.

The NSAs had a dialogue over cooperation against rebellious radicalism along with the potential risk of increased transnational organized crime which extends to arms and drug trafficking, according to the exclusive information of the meeting.

It was also emphasized on the regional anti-terrorism structure of the SCO, which plays a pivotal role to assure regional security and enhancing ties with the member states in overcoming the threats and challenges encountered by the modern world.

They further had talked about cooperation among the member states to assure reliable information security, the joint fight to counter cybercrime, and issues of biological security and food security in reference to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The meeting was also attended by Pakistani NSA Moeed Yusuf, who had earlier said that there is no chance of a bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart on the sidelines of the SCO meet.

In an SCO meeting held in September 2020, Ajit Doval had stormed out of the virtual meeting of National Security Advisors after Pakistan displayed a ‘fictitious map’ which infringed the agenda of the meeting.
