Trump’s pullout leads to US cutting down remaining dues payment to WHO

The Trump administration has given a clear statement on Wednesday about not paying more than USD 60 million in dues as per what it owes to the World Health Organization (WHO). The money would rather be used for other contributions to other projects of United Nations. This announcement was followed a day after White House declared that US will not participate in a WHO based project for COVID-19 vaccine.

The resolution to detain the USD 62 million in dues that it needs to pay to WHO is President Donald Trump’s decision due to their poor handling of the Coronavirus pandemic and about being allegedly influenced by Chinese government. US will continue attending the WHO meetings and give an annual contribution despite their pull out.
