UK foreign secretary to reach India today for four-day visit

United Kingdom Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab is planning to reach India for a four-day visit on Monday, in which, he will have meetings with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss about bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest, said the Ministry of External Affairs on Monday.

Dominic Raab will also have meetings with the Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar and Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal. The ministry stated that Raab’s visit to India will be a very positive move, as it will strengthen the Indian-UK partnership along trade, defence,climate, migration and mobility, education and health considering the post-Covid, post Brexit context.

The Ministry revealed, “Dominic Raab will pay an official visit to India from December 14 to 17. Raab will hold talks with Minister of External Affairs, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on December 15, 2020, on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.”

During the four-day visit, Raab is also going to travel to Bengaluru on December 17, where he will have a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.

India and the United Kingdom have had strategic partnership from 2004, which has been observed with high-level exchanges and the enhanced cooperation in diverse areas, according to the statement by Ministry.
