The United States stated on Monday about its economic dialogue with Taiwan to counter the increasing pressure disposed by Beijing. US continues to provide support to Taiwan despite terminating foreign diplomatic ties by declassifying the six key foreign policy principles.
Beijing was threatening Taiwan with regard to the peace and stability of the island. David Stilwell, US diplomat catering to East Asia, mentioned to the virtual forum presented by the Heritage foundation about the support from Washington due to Beijing’s pressure to Taiwan. He told that the recent economic ties involve “significant adjustments” with Washington’s “One-China” policy. “We will continue to help Taipei resist the Chinese Communist Party’s campaign to pressure, intimidate, and marginalize Taiwan,” he further added.
This comes along as the Taiwanese President Tsai – Ing Wen announced about removing the restrictions based on Taiwan’s import of US pork and beef last week.
