Vodafone group has finally won countering India in an international arbitration case with respect to the $2 billion tax dispute according to the report of sources by Reuters.
It was ruled out by an international tribunal in the Hague that the taxes and liabilities along with the interests and penalties that India has imposed on Vodafone were breaching out the treaty between India and Netherlands as per the information given by the sources.
Further on, it was put forth by the tribunal that India must withdraw asking dues and pay a partial compensation charge of 4.3 million pounds to the company as the sources mentioned.
Both Vodafone and Finance ministry of India were unavailable for any comment.
It was in April 2014 that Vodafone had filed arbitration against India.
