WHO reveals consuming poultry during bird flu is safe

With the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in the cases of Avian Influenza in various states which include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh who will have the question about whether consumption of poultry products is safe or not. And, the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed about it being safe.

Though WHO has suggested the non-vegetarians to take the required precautions prior to consuming eggs or meat. The products require to be rinsed thoroughly prior to cooking to evade away any germs on the surface.

The surge of cases for the bird flu is erupting the question about its transmission to humans and if not contained, it might evolve into an outbreak.

Bird flu is a condition affecting the respiratory system in birds and presently it has been triggered by H5N1 virus, which is supposedly a deadly variant having a low transmission.

The preventive measures are being taken by all the affected and non-affected states, As per the guidelines released by WHO and UN Food and Agricultural Organization, meat and eggs need to cooked at a temperature given of 70 degree Celsius which will neutralize or kill the heat-sensitive virus.

Regarding the eggs, the bodies have recommended a trusted source only and sticking only to fresh produce. In any cases, a runny yolk will give a sign about the stale or affected egg which needs to be discarded.
