Karnataka bus services hit for second day in a row as the transport strike continues

The strike initiated by the transport corporation employees has continued to affect the bus services for the second day in a row. The KSRTC and the BMTC, which normally have seen thousands of departures by as early as 10 am in the morning, have recorded a meagre of 100 services.

As the strike continues for second day in a row, lakhs of commuters have hit a travel block and the strike has crippled their travel plans further.

According to the recent updates of the state, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) at 8 am registered the most frequency of bus operations in Mangalore division where as many as 87 departures were not affected. Following which, Shivamogga (3), Davanagere (2) and Chitradurga (1). The officials said, “The rest of the division saw zero operations.”

Only 75 buses operated in BMTC as of 9 am.

The state government is expected to have a discussion with Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, the leaders of the farmers who has emerged as the face of their protest for resolving the issues invoking the strike.
