PM Modi discusses Covid-19 management with S Africa President Ramaphosa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a telephonic conversation with with South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday regarding the measures taken by New Delhi along with Pretoria for controlling the Covid-19 pandemic.

Narendra Modi took to Twitter to share the conversation. Modi tweeted, “Spoke to the President Cyril Ramaphosa about the measures India and South Africa are taking to fight the Covid-19 pandemic domestically and internationally. India’s capacity to produce medicines and vaccines is supporting the efforts of many nations, including our friends in Africa.”

As per the official release regarding the conversation with Prime Minister’s Office, both the leaders Modi and Ramaphosa had a comprehensive discussion regarding the potential collaboration which is between India and South Africa for various international fora, which will be facilitating the access and affordability when it comes to the vaccines and medicines ti fight the pandemic. The release read, “The leaders agreed that officials of both countries would remain in touch over the coming days to exchange experiences and explore the potential for collaborative efforts against the pandemic.”
