Kabul: Pakistan conducted an airstrike on Afghanistan’s Paktika province in the Barmal district on the night of December 24, resulting in the deaths of 15 people. Reports suggest that the death toll may rise further.
The airstrike targeted seven villages, including Laman, with significant damage reported in Barmal’s Murg Bazaar village.
In response, the Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has vowed retaliation for the airstrike on Paktika. While Pakistani officials have not officially confirmed the attack, security sources close to the military claim that the operation targeted Taliban hideouts near the border.
Pakistan’s Allegation:
Pakistan has accused Afghanistan of harboring militants responsible for terrorist activities within its borders. The Pakistani Taliban, or Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has recently escalated its attacks on Pakistani forces. Pakistan alleges that the Taliban government in Afghanistan is providing sanctuary to these militants.
