It is a rough start for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) considering IPL 2020 which begins from September 19. CSK would require replacements as Harbhajan Singh declared on Friday about pulling out from Indian Premier League 2020 citing personal reasons. Singh put forth the need to have privacy, stating he wishes to spend time with his family.
Earlier, Suresh Raina had withdrawn from the 2020 series, also for personal reasons. The CEO of CSK team, Kasi Vishwanathan stated that he would be ‘supportive of his decision and stands by him and his family during these times’. It is a big blow to the CSK team, as Harbhajan’s withdrawal would leave the team without their vice-caption and senior spinner.
Suresh Raina’s absence from IPL 2020 will affect the team without an ever-dependable top order batsman. Aakash Chopra has tweeted about CSK needing a replacement or two.
A while ago, CSK was also affected by COVID – 19, when 13 members including 2 players were tested positive for Coronavirus in their 6-day quarantine period. Though, CSK later confirmed other members negative in subsequent 2 tests conducted in Dubai.
