Cabinet passes approval for Mission Karmayogi to re-skill civil servants

In order to set a new benchmark for learning for the public servants, the Union Cabinet gave a green signal to Mission Karamyogi on Wednesday. Mission Karmayogi called as National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB) which is a skill development scheme for civil servants with the objective to establish a future – ready civil service in to country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted about it on Wednesday, “National Program for Civil Services Capacity Building approved in today’s cabinet will radically improve the Human Resource management practices in the Government. It will use scale and state of the art infrastructure to augment the capacity of Civil servants.”

A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is set up by the government with complete ownership to operate an online platform and provide digital learning. It will have a subscription model, the SPV will charge a yearly fee of ₹ 431 per civil servant for the skill development programme.
Mission Karmayogi is a scheme to induce fresh reforms after the recruitment for the civil services. This will assist the civil servants to make their work performance
better.
