Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of the Karnataka Unit has conducted investigation and raids against the nine government officers based in 11 districts of the state, which commenced in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The investigation was conducted over the allegations of the disproportionate assets possessed by the officers. The investigation was conducted at a total of 28 places in the state which also comprises of the their residences, offices and the homes of the relatives.
The alleged accused officers involved in the case are – Krishnegowda, Project Director, Nirmiti Kendra, Chikkaballapura, Subramanya K Vaddar, Joint Director, Town & Country Planning, Mysuru,Hanumantha Shivappa Chikkannanavara, Deputy Chief Electrical Inspector, Belagavi circle, K Subramanyam, Junior Engineer, Assistant Director, Town Planning Office, BBMP, Yelahanka Zone, Munigopal Raju, Superintendent engineer, CHESCOM, Mysuru, Channaveerappa, First Division Assistant, RTO office, Mysuru South, Victor Simon, Police Inspector, Bengaluru Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF), Bengaluru City and K M Pratham, Deputy Director, Factories, Lakshmipurum, Raju Pattar, Account officer, GESCOM, Yadgir, and Boilers, Davangere Division.
From the list of the officers, Victor Simon has earlier worked as a police inspector in several police stations in Bengaluru, highly prevalent at the HSR Layout Police Station and the Bellandur Police Station.
In a press release, the ACB gave the information about the raids and investigations conducted. The search and raids are ongoing at Chikkaballapura, Channammanagar, Angola, Kolar Taluk, Belagavi, Udipi, Mysuru, Karwar Town, Ramanagara, Kanakapura Town, Kuvempunagar in Mandya, Yadgir, Davanagere and Bengaluru City which will be executed according to the instructions issued under the supervision of Range Superintendents of Police (SP).
Around 52 officers and 174 staff members of the ACB are carrying out the searches and raids, where official sources have revealed some properties and gold jewellery have been seized as of now.
