Karnataka by-poll results updates: BJP candidates Munirathna and Rajesh Gowda take the lead in RR Nagar and Sira

Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Munirathna representing Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) has emerged victorious with 57,672 votes, defeating the Congress candidate H Kusuma and also JD-S candidate V Krishnamurthy on Tuesday.

Alongside, BJP candidate Dr Rajesh Gowda, has taken the major lead with the vote count of 63,299, which has been updated after 20 rounds of counting which took place in Tumakaru for the Sira constituent assembly. Meanwhile, Congress candidate TB Jayachandra is a lagging behind with 52,914 votes and the JD-S candidate, Ammajamma has 28,745 votes in the poll.

While the Sira seat was vacant from August 4 after JDS candidate succumbed to illness, the RR Nagar seat got vacant in 2019 after the Congress MLA switched over to BJP.
