Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday revealed about the state being a leading research hub of the nation with the assistance from Centre.
At laying the foundation stone ceremony for the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) Sambalpur in Odisha, he said, “I am delighted that the Prime Minister is laying the foundation stone for infrastructural development of IIT-Sambalpur. In just about five years it (IIM Sambalpur) has been able to cast its positive impact upon the hierarchy of educational institutes in Odisha.”
He further added, “Education in Odisha is witnessing a rapid transition. I am happy that our state continues its dominance in education sector.”
The minister said Odisha has been leading regard to education and research historically. He further added that the focus is on the youth to train them according to the latest technology and technical understanding to set them all ready to meet the demands of the industry.
He further said, “I am happy to know that IIM Sambalpur has been aspiring to be the leading entrepreneurial hub in Odisha and has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) with emphasis on nurturing the entrepreneurial talent of the local weavers and agro-based businesses to incubate start-ups in these areas.”
PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the IIM Sambalpur’s permanent campus in Odisha via the mode of virtual conferencing today.
IIM Sambalpur will be the first IIM which will be implementing the concept of flipped classroom where the primary fundamental aspects will be taught via digital mode and the experimental learning will be a part of the classroom teaching. The statement further added about the institute to be a gender diversity based with 49 per cent girls ratio in MBA 2019-2021 batch and 43 per cent in MBA 2020-2022 batch.
