The President of Nepal, Bidhya Devi Bhandari, released a special anthology about the life of Mahatma Gandhi in a ceremony, titled, ‘maile bujheko gaandhii’ which means ‘My understanding about Gandhi’.
The anthology was launched by Bidhya Devi Bhandari at a special ceremony held at Shital Niwas in Kathmandu in the presence of Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra.
A release from the Indian Mission in the Nepal states, “The book has been brought out by the Embassy of India along with the BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation to cherish the values of the Mahatma’s universal teachings with our Nepali friends. It brings together fir the first time uniquely Nepali perspectives on this revered global icon in the form of personal contributions from twenty five eminent and distinguished personalities representing a rich cross section of voices.”
The statement further added, “The publication also hopes to bring the youth of Nepal closer to Mahatma Gandhi, whose life and ideals remain timeless, universal and relevant for today’s world.”
The anthology based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, is of a pictorial format, commemorating the 151st Birth Anniversary of India’s Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and to observe a conclusive end to the two years long celebrations of 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi.
