NIA will be investigating two riots cases of Bengaluru

The National Investigating Agency (NIA) has given the Karnataka High Court the due information that it will be investigating two cases connected to riots on August 11 as instructed by the Centre.

When the petition for the investigation was being heard, as suggested by the public prosecutor for NIA, the bench under chief justice Abhay Oka took up the decision for tranferring the cases to NIA in which Unlawful Activity Prevention Act provisions have been invoked. About 3,000 to 4,000 people as a crowd went to destroy the house of Congress MLA R Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy, his sister Jayanthi, DJ Halii Police Station and KG Halli police station based on a social media post. The crowd also damaged various house, vehicles, properties which took the lives of 4 people and 400 of them were taken into custody.
