BBMP administrator Gaurav Gupta paid a visit near the Manyata Tech Park for inspecting the affected regions and assessing the absolute damage invoked by the floods hit on Tuesday.

Manyata Tech Park was highly impacted due to flash-floods. Gupta instructed the other authorities to search the other regions impacted.

BBMP chief engineer BS Prahlad briefed about the situation to Gupta stating that the excess water from Hebbal and Rachenahalli lakes flow via the Hebbal valley and flood the surrounding regions during any excess rain. He further emphasized on the difficulties in separating silt from the stormwater drain due to the slabs sealing it.

Gupta passed the issue to the Embassy Group for planning on actions to resolve the sealed slabs. Gupta spoke to the BBMP officials, “If they fail to come up with an action plan, the BBMP engineers will remove the slabs and recover double the cost of the operation.” Gupta also visited the affected regions around Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research and the inlet area of Rachenahalli lake and guided the officials to create diversion lines to stop the water logging.
