The Union Finance Ministry has planned for launching a micro-site on MyGov platform which will help them obtain different ideas from the people for the annual budget 2021-22 from several stakeholders.
The application will be available for access online from November 15, 2020 and will be open till the end of November, for receiving ideas on budget, stated the Ministry of Finance in an official release. For several years, the pre-budget consultations have been held by Finance Ministry in North Block and the discussions would be with experts, industry or commerce associations and trade bodies.
Considering the present situation of the global pandemic, numerous suggestions have been passed on by numerous quarters for organizing the pre-budget consultations in a different, probably virtual format. “It has accordingly been decided to create a dedicated email to receive suggestions from various Institutions/Experts. A specific communication to this effect will be sent shortly.”
The Ministry of Finance further iterated regarding the mandate registrations to be done by the masses on MyGov for presenting their ideas for budget 2021-22.
The ministry further stated the consultations for the annual budget are anticipated to be more participatory and democratic by inching the platform closer towards the voices of the common people.
“The submissions will be further examined by the concerned ministries/departments of Government of India. If required, individuals may be contacted on the email/mobile no provided at the time of registration to seek clarifications on their submissions. The portal will remain open till November 30, 2020.”
