Karnataka University examinations will go on as per schedule: Ashwathnarayan

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwathnarayan mentioned that University-level examinations which comprises of graduation, post-graduation, engineering, diploma along with other courses will be held as per the planned schedule. He further added that post the completion of the examination, there will be no summer holidays.

Ashwathanarayan, who also has the higher education portfolio revealed to media about the academic activities for the 2021-22 have been prolonged already and further delay should not be laid, thereby the academic activities will not be suspended citing COVID-19 pandemic and held as per the given schedule.

He further added that for any further delay, the complete cycle of course period, test, followed by results and employment and further studies will be impacted adversely, so, the state government has taken tough measures to assure the academic activities for 2021-22 are not impacted based on dealing with the pandemic.

Ashwathnarayan further added, “I appeal to the student community to not harbour any doubt about the scheduled time table of the examinations.” He stated, “Academic year 2021-22 will start functioning immediately and students will have both the options of offline and online classes,” adding that online classes will start quite early, and for the following year, it will be compulsory for the students to attend either of the classes.

Regarding the offline classes, he emphasized on adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He added, “Those institutions opt to conduct off-line classes, they will have to adhere to all SOP’s in the interest of those who attend the physical classes. Sanitization of classrooms, maintenance of hygiene, COVID-19 test, maintenance of physical distance and wearing of masks will be compulsory.”
