India calls for the removal of Jammu and Kashmir issue from UNSC under ‘Outdated Agenda Item’

India at the United Nations has called for permanent removal of Jammu and Kashmir issue under outdated agenda item from the agenda of the Security Council. Pakistan’s UN envoy, Munir Akram was bringing up the J & K issue during the virtual meeting on the report of the Security Council. Akram mentioned that the Security Council was discovered to be lacking implementation of its resolutions and decisions on J & K  issues.

On Monday, India had made a statement about a delegation (Pakistan) which associates to international peace but is unfortunately recognized for international terror. On August 3, 2020, the Secretary General released a statement on the seized matters listing ‘India-Pakistan question’ which was not considered at formal meetings from January 2017 to August 2020. China and Pakistan are reported to be repeatedly invoking the Security Council to discuss the matters seeking discussion on “closed consultations”, after a meeting in August last year on J & K issue which was left without outcomes.
