The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday has granted approval for three key Bills that eliminate strict conditions on winding up of the companies and relaxing the restrictions on removing the employees in a strength of 100 – 300 without government sanction.

RSS-affiliated BMS strongly criticized the passing of the Bill, stated that the Codes were “tilted too much in the favour of the employers or bureaucrat” and not any of their suggestions were acknowledged.

Nearly 10 members from the Opposition wrote to the Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to not pass the Bills. In a joint letter, they had mentioned that these Bills would be affecting the livelihood of crores of workers. However, Venkaiah Naidu rejected their pleas stating that there were precedents of Bills approved when parties chose to boycott or walk away from the House.
